Career Services News - Alumni Informational Interview Directory
Career Services, in cooperation with the Texas State Alumni Association, would like to ask for your help in establishing an Alumni Informational Interview Directory.
The Alumni Informational Interview Directory will serve as a source of occupational information for students and alumni. We recognize the impact of a tough economy and believe that bobcats calling other bobcats for occupational information might minimize job search anxiety because an informational interview is less stressful than a typical job interview.
An informational interview is a brief meeting or phone call between a person who wants to investigate a career and a person working in that career. Informational interviews consist of students or alumni asking you questions about your job and your career industry. Informational interviews usually last 20 to 30 minutes. The purpose of an informational interview is not to get a job. Instead, the goal is to allow students and alumni to find out about jobs they might like or to see if that job or career field fits their interests and personality.
As a Bobcat we are asking you to sign up to be on the other end of the table or phone for those bobcats, students and alumni, who have questions pertaining to your job and your career industry. If you are interested please click here to fill out a contact survey.
Thank you for your consideration, if you have questions you can call Chris Jones at Career Services 512-245-2645 or the Alumni Association 512-245-2371.

Top ten reasons to come back to Texas State for Homecoming.
10. Spend time with some dynamic and impressive students 9. Take a van tour of campus or get lost on your own and see all the changes since the good old days 8. See how “old” some of your “old” professors are now 7. Make sure the Stallions are still where you left them and haven’t run off 6. Look for bats in Old Main (not to be confused with “batty” people) 5. Have a great time - Just like you used to! 4. Get reacquainted with places you remember. Some things never change but you’ll just have to come back to see 3. Hang out in the quad and watch for streakers 2. Renew old friendships - You’ve bumped into ‘em, read about ‘em, even seen some of ‘em on TV, and now it’s your chance to see them in person 1. It's Texas State - Your Home Away from Home.
