Association's Goals
The Texas State Alumni Association's goals are to:
-
raise and award $100,000 in scholarships every year; -
reach out and communicate with alumni and former students; -
reach out and educate students currently enrolled; -
design and fund a new Texas State Alumni Center.
The Association accomplishes these goals through the following:
-
welcoming new students through New Student Orientation and new alumni through Senior Sendoff; -
supporting current students through Alumni Scholarships and with support for projects through academic departments and organizations; -
organizing chapter, regional and area alumni reunions; -
helping sponsor and host Homecoming; -
celebrating scholarship recipients at Scholarship Gala; -
sponsoring a number of awards including Distinguished Alumni Award, the Teaching Award of Honor, the LBJ Outstanding Senior Student Award, the Alumni Achiever Award, and the Key of Excellence; -
and securing funds through membership dues, scholarship donations, corporate sponsorships, and event revenue.
